“UNCTAD”: UAE Second in the World in FDI Projects in 2023

The United Arab Emirates maintained its global attractiveness in attracting new foreign investment projects during the past year 2023, as it increased by 28 percent compared to the previous year in 2022. Thus, the UAE recorded the second-highest increase in the number of new projects at the global level, after the United States of America topped the list of new projects.

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) revealed that the UAE has led the countries of the West Asian region in flourishing foreign direct investment flows to the countries of the region. In Western Asia, it rose by 2 percent; driven by the state's global attraction, as other developed countries, with advanced infrastructure and a legislative system that boosted foreign direct investment. As well as the visa system that is the best in the world, as well as the country's geographical location, which has made the UAE the focus of the world's attention in trade, logistics, and energy.
